AR Portal

Sony,  2015-2016

A “telepresence” concept prototype facilitating real time social interaction in virtual spaces.

The system uses a network of depth cameras and projectors to track the form and motion of remote users to instantiate them into a shared virtual space that can be transmitted to each location’s local display.

The application leverages skeletal tracking and 3D depth data to render the user’s virtual body in real time and incorporates digital objects that respond to the user’s movements and to the physics of the virtual world to give a sense of collaboration and shared presence.
